When the design team started the concept, their aim was to study and demonstrate the relationship between three axes (Islam, society and sky) in terms of Architectural style and contents. During the design concept we had an obsession, how to create the impact of first impression to the viewers when they see the mosque first time. It was a challenge to design new relationship between the mosque volume and minaret, the minaret (80 meters height) to serve as a symbolic landmark with a panoramic view on Dubai creek, in addition to its original function; creating a new rekationship with its surrounding, connected with the courtyard by a ramp.
